We meet you at Bangkok airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to settle in and relax.
We leave your morning free today to relax after your flights, and to enjoy the hotel facilities. After lunch you'll enjoy a half day tour of Bangkok, visiting the stunning Grand Palace complex and the Royal Temple of the Emerald Buddha. You'll also stop at the nearby Wat Po, Bangkok's oldest and largest Wat, and home to the largest reclining Buddha. In the evening, we transfer to the train station to board the overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai, in a second class, air conditioned, sleeping berth.
Upon arrival in Chiang Mai we transfer you to your hotel and the rest of the morning is free for you to relax and settle into the hotel. After lunch we take you on a walking tour of Chiang Mai, a lively and bustling city and capital of the North. You'll explore the area around your hotel and climb up to Doi Suthep temple for wonderful views over the city and to see the holy relics of the Buddha. Next you'll stop off at Chiang Mai zoo. Set in an attractive 36-acre park, it has a good reputation and is home to over seven thousand animals. In the evening you'll enjoy a diner in a local restaurant by the river.
In the morning we leave Chiang Mai on a pick up truck and head north to Huay Nam Dang National Park for your jungle adventure. You'll start with a 2 hour trek through the hilly forested terrain to a Karen hill-tribe village. Along the way your guide will point out interesting wildlife and you'll spend the night in bamboo huts, just like the villagers.
We start the day with more trekking and you'll have plenty of time to appreciate the colourful and diverse flora and fauna of the jungle. After lunch it's onto the elephants for a fun hour and a half ride through the jungle to our rafting camp. Once a the camp, there will be plenty of time to swim in the stream and you'll spend another night with villagers in a bamboo hut.
This morning we take to the bamboo rafts for an exhilarating ride down river. This magical ride will take you through steep valleys and mixed forests with the sounds of wildlife all around you. There are occasional gentle rapids and plenty of chances to stop for swims or visit local Karen villages. After lunch we transfer you back to Chiang Mai by pickup truck.
Today is totally free for you to rest and recover from your jungle adventure. You can also explore Chiang Mai at you leisure or do some souvenir shopping. There are also plenty of optional extras you can do like joining in with a Thai cookery course, enjoying a Thai massage or perhaps taking a bike ride through the suburbs and countryside around Chiang Mai. In the evening you'll board the overnight sleeper train back to Bangkok.
Your morning is free to relax after you train journey and to settle into your hotel. After lunch we take you on a boat tour of some of the many canals that criss-cross the suburbs of Bangkok. Along the way you'll visit markets, a school, temples, an orchid farm and the Royal barge house. The evening is free for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Today we leave free for you to enjoy at your leisure. You can relax and make the most of your hotel, or head out and explore the sights and sounds of Bangkok, or perhaps do some shopping. There are plenty of optional tours you can book if you prefer.
We start today with a cycling tour of the countryside around Bangkok. You'll visit the Kamalulislam mosque, hub of the local Muslim community, ride along canals glimpsing the life of local Thai families. You'll visit fish farms, rice mills, traditional Thai wooden houses and before arriving in the old market town of Nong Chock. Here we trade your bikes for boats and complete your journey with a river cruise down the Saen Seab canal. In the evening, we transfer to the train station to board the overnight sleeper train to Surat Thani, in a second class, air conditioned, sleeping berth.
On arrival in Surat Thani, we'll take time for breakfast before transferring you by road to Khao Sok National Park. The park comprises 656 sq. km. of dense rainforest with waterfalls, limestone cliffs, numerous streams, an island-studded lake, and many riverside walking trails. Late morning you'll take a walk into the park with an experienced local jungle guide. After lunch you'll visit some small caves and a village temple. You spend the night in large treehouses (complete with proper beds, shower and toilet), right up in the forest canopy
After breakfast we transfer to the Raja Phraba Lake and travel by boat to our accommodation for the night - raft houses, floating on the lake. After settling in and taking lunch, we will take a boat trip for a 2 to 3-hour hike to a wonderful vantage point giving a dramatic and panoramic view of the lake and surrounding jungle. After dinner you can take a guided walk to observe the natural nightlife of the rainforest.
It’s an early start today for a longer hike into the jungle to observe and learn more about the local flora and fauna. We’ll view local wildlife, giant trees - some with huge buttress roots, wild orchids, ferns and much more. We then return to the raft houses for a late lunch and the rest of the afternoon is free to relax. Various options are available to swim, or go tubing on the river.
The morning is free for you to relax and enjoy your natural surroundings in the park. After lunch we provide a private transfer to the idyllic beach resort of Krabi. You'll check into your luxurious beach resort with lots of facilities, swimming pools, and normally a private beach. The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to just relax on the beach after your exertions of the last few days in the park.
Today you will take a cruise to visit some of the most beautiful beaches, islands and coral reefs in the area. En route you'll pass beautiful off-shore islands and spectacular limestone rock formations. We'll stop Rai Leh Beach, one of the most beautiful and romantic beaches in Thailand, with time for swimming, rock climbing or trekking up the mountain for a breathtaking view of the lagoon. You'll then visit nearby islands to experience snorkelling over the stunning corals and to swim with dazzling schools of fish.
Your next activity in Krabi is an easy kayaking trip to explore the mangrove forests and river estuary, and to admire their fascinating ecological systems. There should be a chance to see water monitor, monkeys, and gibbons. After paddling through mangrove forests, the day’s highlight will be passing beneath the Khanab Nam Mountain, a magnificent canyon covered with wild flora and extending for some 400 meters. The afternoon is free to relax and soak up the sun back in your hotel.
We have kept today completely free for you to just enjoy and relax at your resort in Krabi. Of course if you'd like to do more excursions or activities there are plenty of options available to you.
You have a little more free time today before we transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Bangkok.
Your morning is free to do some last minute sightseeing or shopping before we transfer you back to airport for flight home.
