A Thai Buddhist Monk in Wat Arun, Bangkok, Thailand
Ask anyone what comes to mind when you say Thailand and they will probably say sun, sea and sand – and lots of it! Well if that’s what you are looking for then this tour will certainly suit you. The island paradises of Ko Samui and Ko Tao make and excellent base for swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling or just lazing about in the sun. Add to this time in the bustling capital Bangkok and a stop at the beautiful Khao Sok National Park - with its spectacular limestone cliffs, water falls and jungle scenery - and you have the perfect southern Thailand experience.
Arriving in Bangkok, we start with a walking tour to some of the numerous temples and market for which this city is most famous. Then we climb aboard the sleeper train to start our journey south towards the golden sands of warm blue waters of Thailand’s south coast.
The island of Ko Tao, Thailand
Stopping en-route, we spend a couple of days at the wonderful Khao Sok National Park. Here you can enjoy a trek through spectacular jungle scenery – towering limestone cliffs, waterfalls, and an island studded lake.
Then it’s south once again as we head to the island of Ko Samui and our first taste of Thai beach life. This lively island has plenty to keep you occupied both during the day and during the night. Then it’s on to the more chilled out island of Ko Tao, where you can spend some quality time swimming and sunbathing, or perhaps do a little scuba diving on the nearby coral reefs. Exploring this island with its numerous secluded beaches is sure to be a highlight of your trip.
Finally we leave the islands behind and catch the overnight train back to Bangkok where we transfer you to the airport and your flight home.
