We begin our tour in Bangkok by visiting the Grand Palace, a beautiful collection of temples and buildings that was once the official home for the Kings of Siam. We then head south, by overnight sleeper train and bus, to the idyllic beach town of Krabi.

 

Krabi will be our base for the next few days and will come as a welcome relief after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. We start with a boat cruise to the surrounding beaches and islands where you can relax on the beaches or snorkel over the stunning coral reefs.

 

We next take to our kayaks for an exploration of the nearby mangrove forests and river estuary and admire their fascinating ecological systems. Wildlife includes monitor lizards, monkeys and numerous bird species. We also paddle through wondrous caves draped in stalactites and stalagmites and lined with pre-historic paintings and early human remains. At the end of your stay in Krabi you will have some free time to relax on the beach or to try your hand at climbing on the fantastic limestone cliffs that rise up from the beach.

 

Finally we head back to Bangkok on the overnight sleeper train where there is some more free time for sightseeing or last minute shopping before your tour ends.
