We meet you at Bangkok airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to settle in and relax.
This morning you'll enjoy a half day tour of Bangkok, visiting the stunning Grand Palace complex and the Royal Temple of the Emerald Buddha. You'll also stop at the nearby Wat Po, Bangkok's oldest and largest Wat, and home to the largest reclining Buddha. Your afternoon is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. In the evening, we transfer to the train station to board the overnight sleeper train to Surat Thani, in a second class, air conditioned, sleeping berth.
After arrival in Surat Thani, we have time for breakfast, before transferring by local bus through small villages and countryside to the beautiful resort town of Krabi. You will have a good afternoon here just to relax on the beach after the journey.
Today you will take a cruise to visit some of the most beautiful beaches, islands and coral reefs in the area. En route you'll pass beautiful off-shore islands and spectacular limestone rock formations. We'll stop Rai Leh Beach, one of the most beautiful and romantic beaches in Thailand, with time for swimming, rock climbing or trekking up the mountain for a breathtaking view of the lagoon. You'll then visit nearby islands to experience snorkelling over the stunning corals and to swim with dazzling schools of fish.
Your next activity in Krabi is an easy kayaking trip to explore the mangrove forests and river estuary, and to admire their fascinating ecological systems. There should be a chance to see water monitor, monkeys, and gibbons. After paddling through mangrove forests, the day’s highlight will be passing beneath the Khanab Nam Mountain, a magnificent canyon covered with wild flora and extending for some 400 meters. The afternoon is free to relax and soak up the sun back in your hotel.
Today you'll enjoy another morning of sea kayaking through stunning caves to see marvellous stalagmites and stalactites. You'll aslo paddle around the coastal mangrove forests, along the river estuary and finally up river, passing through Lod Cave, beneath the mountains to the Great Spirit or Skull Caves, famous for their pre-historic paintings and early human remains. The afternoon is again free for you to relax or explore Krabi further.
We have kept today completely free for you to just enjoy and relax at your resort in Krabi. Alternatively you may like to spend the day rock climbing on nearby Rai Leh Beach. The Limestone cliffs at the back of the beach are a Mecca for rock climbers from around the world and there are over 500 bolted routes to choose from.
You have a little more free time today before we transfer you by bus to Surat Thani for the overnight sleeper train to Bangkok
Today is completely free for you to enjoy some more sightseeing in Bangkok or to do some last minute shopping. You could also fly home today if you prefer.
