What if my client has a pre-existing medical condition?
A pre-existing medical condition is any medical condition which has been suffered, or for which medical advice, treatment or medication has been received in the last 24 months prior to the date of issue of the policy.
Firstly, issue the policy online and provide your client with a Policy Certificate and relevant policy wording. If your client has a pre-existing medical condition, then the client must telephone the Medical Pre-screening company (Bishopscourt) on 08712 085 544. Failure to advise the Medical Pre-screening company of a pre-existing medical condition will result in claims for those undisclosed conditions not being paid.
If cover can be provided, the client will be given an acceptance code and the Medical Pre-screening company will send a letter of coverage to the client upon the receipt of the additional premium (where necessary).
